Cozumel - Paradise
This morning our ship docked in Cozumel. By the time we gathered our things and had a great breakfast (mushroom, tomato & cheese omelet & the best pastries I've ever eaten), we walked off the ship to explore Cozumel.
As you leave the pier you are surrounded by some great shopping opportunities. We opted to pass them by until we completed our day of snorkeling at Channkaub Park. We did this on our own, just grabbed a taxi ($10 for all of us - the best deal yet) and within 15 minutes we were purchasing our ticket to the park. This is a National Park that offers a great historical tour, lagoon, scuba, snorkeling, dolphin encounters and much more. I highly recommend this as a stop for Cozumel.
After a 20 minute historical tour and a light rain, we were ready to put on our snorkel gear. The fish sightings were great - many species to see and great reefs to explore. We saw a school of fish that must have numbered 50-75 all piled on top of one another. I snapped my fingers underwater and the fish would get as close as they dared - hoping I was about to release some food.
After a fun day snorkeling it was off to the shopping center. Anything you can imagine was available - great deals on tshirts - nice ones - not the kind that will fall apart after the first wash. We bought 3 and paid only $4.99 each. Dos Equis beer was only .99 per bottle - WOW now that's a bargain!
Sad to say, time ran out and we had to make our way back to the ship. Got back just in time to shower and make our 6:00 p.m. dining. We have a great wait staff - Kevin & Panquish. Upper deck Renoir Dining room.
Now it's late night parties for our children and late night casino for us - wish us luck!
Til tomorrow -
