Grand Cayman - Rain
Thursday - Grand Cayman -
This morning we woke up - tendered at Grand Cayman. It was rather a gray day - some rain and choppy waters, so we were a little late catching our tender. They were forced to stop for a while until the weather eased up. No problem - we just wanted to catch a taxi and head for 7 mile beach. It's only about 3 1/2 miles from the pier - and oh so beautiful. The water is crystal blue - almost an aquamarine in color. You can see your feet as your move along the water. We didn't get out far enough to see any fish, although my husband and son did see a sea turtle swim past.
We stayed at the beach a couple of hours before the clouds really started looking a little spooky. Rinsed off and grabbed a taxi back to the pier. There is only one street in and out from the pier so be prepared for a line returning in the afternoon. If your ship is tells you to be at the last tender by a certain time be sure to ask your taxi driver what time they need to pick you up to get you back allowing for major traffic congestion.
After our shore break, we returned to the ship for a great lunch. After lunch, we all returned to our cabin to freshen up and catch a little rest for our late night tonight. Tonight's agenda - "Comedy Show".. Looking forward to that. The entertainment onboard has really been great.
The staff of the Carnival Conquest is the best! They are so polite, and very eager to attend our needs. We're ready to book again!
Til tomorrow - when you can hear all about Cozumel!
