Montego Bay Jamaica
Wednesday - May 28th
This morning after another perfect night at sea, we arrived Montego Bay Jamaica. We did not book a shore excursion - as our original plan was to stay onboard ship and save our shore excursion $$$ for Grand Cayman and Cozumel. We like to snorkel and felt those two stops would offer the best snorkel opportunities.
Once up, and after a great breakfast (fresh omelet with mushrooms, cheese, peppers and tomatoes - my favorite), we decided to step off the ship and do some shopping. The shops at the pier are wonderful - some of the friendliest people you would ever want to meet. Beware - however - I don't recommend you visit the "Locked gate shops" next door to the terminal. Unfortunately they almost "drag" you into their shops and as you round the corner you just might be met by the "four ladies in the area Illegally"... It was actually kind of funny, they started pulling all kinds of jewelry out of their purses and kept trying to get us to "move around the corner"... I finally told them they were making me feel like we weren't supposed to be dealing with them and off we went.
We came back to the ship and ate some lunch (be prepared if you've never cruised before, FOOD is the ultimate). Afterwards we opted to lay out and take a little swim. Great afternoon. Late in the day we are having some rain, but that's okay - we're pulling out of Jamaica around 5:30.
Looking forward to another fun night aboard the Carnival Conquest.
Tune in tomorrow -
